Governor Letter June 2020

Hanspeter Pfister, DG

Dear Rotarians

How quickly a year goes by. Today I write my last Governor letter. I did experience an intensive, exciting and enriching year. I would like to look back on it with as many of you as possible at the District Conference in Einsiedeln on 22 August 2020. We can hold this meeting physically due to the relaxed Corona regulations of the Federal Council. The Theatre hall of the Monastery of Einsiedeln with 300 seats offers enough space to keep the distance. Please register here until July 15th, thank you.

The Rotary International Convention will not take place in Honolulu, Hawaii, but online. Anyone can attend free of charge from 20 to 26 June.

There are many older members in our Rotary clubs who have no or little attendance at Club meetings. RC Schwyz has established a senior service. This is a project worth copying for other clubs!

Another Corona request for help reaches us from South Africa: LEAP Science and Maths Schools needs sanitary materials for girls, meals for the students at home and mobile phones. Who can remember the inter-district conference in Zurich, where Lunghi had a great movie performance? She is now employed by LEAP Schools and has also become a Rotarian. Thanks for your help, the information is here.

Now I would like to wish you all continued enjoyment and fun in Rotary, thank you for your trust and hand over the baton virtually on 1.7.2020 and physically on 22.8. in Einsiedeln to my successor, Governor Francesco Beretta Piccoli!

Best wishes, your outgoing DG Hanspeter Pfister
