About a dozen clubs are organizing weekly online meetings because of the Corona crisis, which I like to visit whenever possible. I find these exchanges fruitful, even if they are no substitute for personal contacts. The good attendance at these online meetings shows me that they meet a need. I recommend visits to everyone and refer to the club agendas on our homepage.
On this way I also heard about offers for FFP2 masks and disinfectants, of which I could also inform.
I am pleased that we can quickly support three projects in Basel with a US$25,000 Rotary Foundation Disaster Response Grant.
In Malawi, Africa, PDG Dr. Urs Herzog worked with a local Rotary club to put together a relief package for a hospital for materials and equipment, which was supported by The Rotary Foundation with two global grants in record time.
We have postponed our District Conference in Einsiedeln until 22 August. By then, physical meetings of about 100 participants should be possible. The premises in the monastery offer enough space for the social distancing required by the Federal Council. Registration on the district homepage is open until 15 July. It would be nice to meet many Rotarians in Einsiedeln after this time of crisis.
The PETS will be held online, so incoming presidents are encouraged to register for their region's PETS.
And now: Donate now more than ever! Thank you very much, your district governor.
