Supporting the environment becomes a new area of focus of the Rotary Foundation. Beginning 1.7.2021, it will be possible to seek Global Grants. You will find additional information in the attachment, which contains the message of the Board Director 2021-23 Urs Klemm (Aarau Rotary Club) and several links in English, German and Italian.
This decision helps to reinforce even further Article 8.040.4 “Preserve Planet Earth” which reads : “Preserve Planet Earth encourages Rotary clubs to promote awareness among Rotarians and increase the number of environmental service projects. These activities are part the third avenue of service, Community Service.”
The “MARE NOSTRUM” project of the Arlesheim Rotary Club, which is also supported by other clubs, is an excellent example.
Environmental protection is close to the heart of every Rotarian, especially the new generations among our members. This innovation will make joining Rotary as a member even more attractive.
